MI BLUETOOTH CANON SPEAKER V2: ROCKING YOUR WORLD
We review today the latest release of Xiaomi which is the Mi Bluetooth powered Canon Speaker Version 2.0.
Lets see whats in the box:
Whats inside the speaker?
The first release of the Mi Canon Speaker was pretty much of a success for the company, always going out of stock for the first few months after its debut, now they are re-rocking the way we play our music with the version 2.0 release of the said bluetooth speaker. They have basically preserved the round canon shape of the speaker, this time smaller in diameter and taller in height. But thats not all, they have redesigned the speaker to become buttonless the second time around.
This new speaker is made out of PC + ABS materials to make it as durable as possible, plus it is packed with a 1200 Mah battery to make sure you get 7 hours of non stop music tripping like you never had before. It is also sporting bluetooth v 4.1 to be compatible with most latest smartphones. The version 2.0 now has new features added to make the product more interesting, it can receive calls and has a build-in mic, we tried to call someone and put the phone roughly 3 meters distance from the speaker, and the person we are talking to said he can hear us loud and clear during the test. It is not also buttonless, unlike the v1.0 you need to flip under the speaker to press volume up and volume down, plus the powerbutton, this time around you just need to press the top lid of the speaker to turn it on, and you just need to spin the cap of the speaker to turn volume up and down. Isnt it cool?
You can see a rubber that is separating the cap from the body, this has to be removed before using the speaker, but you need to put it back when your done. This is to prevent the unit to accidentally turn on when its inside the bag since the cap needs to be pressed to turn on.
Lets talk about the sounds this time, the volume compared to version 1 is almost at par, but one thing we notice is that even that we put the sound to maximum, the song doesnt crack (this is quite common in cheaply made speakers). We have played our favorite testing song Sugar by Maroon 5 since it has equal mix of bass and high pitched voice of Adam Levigne. We can say its pretty good, but not the best from Xiaomi. The best we have tested so far is the Version 2 of the rectangle speaker, it outperforms this unit in terms of loudness of the same song. But overall we can give this unit a 8/10 score for its sounds and 10/10 for its superb design and features.
